The inaugural art exhibition held at the former Singapore Conference Hall and Trade Union House (now known as Singapore Conference Hall). It was presented by the Singapore Art Society on behalf of the Ministry of Culture. The exhibition was organised by Choy Weng Yang and the selection committee included Chen Chong Swee, Cheong Soo Pieng, Chia Wai Hon and Lim Yew Kuan.
