The five brushstrokes spread outwards to signal the beginning of a "new Singapore" while the traditional calligraphy represent Singapore's past and heritage. Their colours suggest the vibrancy and diversity of its people, while the energetic bold stokes symbolise "creative and dare in the new age". Finally, the shooting stars in all directions evokes a "progressive spirit" with an "international outlook".
The font is similar to the previous two years logo.
