One of Singapore's earliest industrial design firms, it was founded by David Chen in the late seventies. Chen started the studio soon after returning from the United Kingdom where he studied industrial design and worked as a designer. He had stints as an automobile designer at Chrysler UK, and also worked in the studio of British designer James Gardner and Italian designer Ettore Sottsass.
